If you are like most people then you have at one time or another made a to-do list for your day. You may have listed 7 or 8 different tasks that you wanted to complete that day but once the day was over and you were ready to go to sleep you saw that you were only able to complete 2 or 3 of those tasks and had to bump over the rest of the tasks to your next day along with your already scheduled next days tasks.
There are only so many hours in a day and we have to sleep around 8 hours so that leaves us with 16 hours each day to do what we actually need to do. Actually not, the simple human survival tasks that we do every day will take up a couple more hours such as eating, showering, personal hygiene, etc.
So much to do, so little time! How does one overcome this problem? The solution is to create a time management plan. There are different time management plans for mothers, students, employees, etc. No matter what kind of time management plan it is, each plan must seek to improve someones life. The plan should involve health benefits, intellectual growth, social development, career, emotion, and spirituality.
You are going to have to make sure that you fulfill the needs to each of these areas each and every day and not neglect any one of them. Making your to-do list is very important if you want to improve your time management plan.
Here are a few tips to keep in mind to manage your time:
• When making your to-do list for the day, make a list that is realistic. Do not get carried away when you are making your list and hope that you can do to much that day. Even though you wish you could do all of those things, chances are that you cannot. The list is called a to-do list and not a things-I-wish-I-could-do-list.
• When listing your tasks to do for the day, determine which ones are top priority for the day and which ones are not necessary to do that day.
• Learn to say “no” when someone is trying to interrupt your schedule. This does not mean to be rude and ignore every aspect of your life to get everything on your list done but all to often people will give in much to easily to others. If you have a very important priority on your list that needs to get done then do not let anything stop you from getting it done.
• Stop procrastinating, it is so easy for people to just say “tomorrow.”
If you feel that you would like to learn in depth time management skills, you might want to consider taking some time management classes. great information thank you
I feel that the biggest thing when it comes to time management, is really about priority management. The things that you leave for the next day are really things that you just didn’t have a high enough priority to do today. Most of the time our priorities are messed up and don’t support our goals.
Time management is the ultimate key to success. If you manage your time well, you can do things and follow your certain schedule. Great video. Thanks for sharing this.
